5 Reasons to Watch NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II

NXT return with their latest Takeover special this Saturday night from Brooklyn as part of Summerslam weekend.  Here are 5 reasons to look forward to the show:

Back to Brooklyn

Last years Takeover show was historic for many reasons.  NXT grew up and stole the show from the main roster.  It was an unforgettable show with an atmosphere not seen in quite some time. This year NXT has stiffer competition from a loaded Summerslam line up, but this should be another special show in front of a piping hot sold out crowd.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Samoa Joe

This is going to be something.  Nakamura thrives in a big match environment and here he has a dream match in his biggest NXT collision to date.  Samoa Joe is as strong style as Nakamura is, so expect to see a lot more of what Nakamura brought to the table in NJPW.  This match will be as stiff and as physical as hell between two guys that aren’t afraid to lay in heavy shots.  You have to imagine the reaction for Nakamura will be awe inspiring.  This has match of the year written all over it.

Asuka vs Bayley

Last year we saw one of the most emotional moments in WWE history when Bayley won the NXT Women’s title in a classic from Sasha Banks.  This year Bayley goes in as the challenger again as she looks to regain the title from the ferocious Asuka. These two had a fantastic match in Dallas a few months ago, but this one should be even better as Bayley will be looking to go out on a high on what could end up being her last Takeover.  With Bayley showing a nastier side that has pissed off Asuka, this will be a lot more intense than their previous meeting.

Gargano & Ciampa grow up

One year ago Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa walked into NXT as two job guys, and here they are later about to appear on the biggest show of their careers before they start full time with WWE.  Gargano has been a special talent for years, but Ciampa in particular stepped up and took a chance by leaving ROH, and it has paid off in the biggest way.  This is the biggest match of their career and they will be out to prove that they belong.  The Revival are the perfect guys to do it with.  They have been having some incredible matches this year.  This could easily be a show stealer.

If the Brooklyn crowd don’t sing Glorious, it will be a major disappointment.  Bobby Roode makes his Takeover debut against Andrade Cien Almas.  Roode is already as over as hell thanks to his incredible theme music.  Roode is a guy that should have been a main event star in WWE years ago.  He could be a major player, so hopefully this is the start of big things for him in NXT and WWE.

Not a boxer but a pro wrestling fan. If there’s a ring I’ll watch it, so naturally I have a lot of opinions (complaints).
